My self-image or how I saw myself was defined by my hair. I’m learning that I am not my hair, my clothes or anything materialistic. Positive Body thoughts from my head to my toes has been an important part in my self-love journey!
We all want something different. Curly-haired people want straight hair and straight-haired people want curly hair.
I am letting go of this idea, “that my curls are bad.” That sounds silly, but it’s what I told myself. It’s not true. My curls are amazing. I always get complimented on them. I know that to truly practice self-love I need to embrace my curls.
So today, I’m telling my curls that they are a part of me. They are a part of me embracing my natural beauty with self-love. See, self-love sometimes is hard, learning that I need to embrace of all me is hard, but processing it, challenging it and not forgetting to roar back definitely helps me in my self-love journey. I honestly now think that I love my curls.
