At the beginning of January, my mom and I launched the 31-Day Self-Love Writing Challenge (here’s the blog post explaining it), where people are encouraged to write self-love blog posts that we publish on the Love Warrior Community and Self-Love Warrior, or that they publish on their own blog, or write in their journal or post to the 31-Day Self-Love Writing Challenge FB event page.
As of today, including my blog posts and my mom’s, we’ve had 227 self-love blog post submissions this past month, not including all of the posts on the FB event page, which are a lot, and not including all of the people who are writing in their own journals. How cool is that!? The 31-Day Self-Love Writing Challenge has inspired about 500 or more self-love posts to be written this month, from around the world! We’ve read self-love posts from Australia, from the UK, from states all across the U.S., and who knows where else.
We’ve received messages that people have been writing self-love posts in journals. We’ve received messages from people telling us that they shared the 31-Day Self-Love Writing Challenge with their friends, and that they’re really grateful for and benefiting from it. People have told us that they are sharing their posts with their therapists, with their families, with their friends. It has been a wonderful journey so far. 🙂
And it has been great reading everyone’s self-love posts, and for the people who have been submitting posts continuously throughout the month, it has been great to see their self-love journey and the progress they have made in discovering themselves, in reconnecting with themselves and in loving themselves.
It has also been great experiencing and participating in the community that has sprung from the 31-Day Self-Love Writing Challenge Facebook event page. People are posting their self-love posts to the event page, articles and photos they find inspiring and tid bits about their day and how it relates to self-love. Just as awesome, others are commenting on what people post, offering advice, congratulations, shared experiences and support. It’s heartwarming and it’s amazing to witness.
Today’s Self-Love Diet tip is self-love spreads. If you focus on self-love, if you make your intention each morning to love yourself, your self-love will spread and grow. What you choose to focus on will grow.
My mom and I’s self-love practice grew into the Love Warrior Community (LWC), it grew into creating the LWC’s group blog, this blog you’re reading right now. We started writing self-love writing posts as part of our self-love practice, and that grew into the idea of hosting a 31-Day Self-Love Writing Challenge during January, and four years later, that grew into over 500 self-love posts being written this January, from people all over the world.
If you read the self-love posts that others have written this month (you can do that here), you’ll see growth in their self-love journey and in their love for themselves. If have been writing self-love posts this month and you read through them, take time to notice and celebrate your progress. Writing in itself, taking the time to write or read self-love posts this month, that is an act of self-love that you have added into your life. That is progress.
What you choose to focus on grows. Today, choose self-love. Today, the self-love you have for yourself may be little, but if you choose to cultivate it each day, slowly, but surely, it will grow.
