Loving my patience (Psych!!!)

I love the patience I had growing up, but it seems that after I learned how to drive the patience well quickly dried up. I discovered that I have road rage. After that life changing realization I started to evaluate other areas of my life that I’ve started to lose patience in.

School- for some reason I’ve stopped taking the time I used to on my work. Since I started grad school I’ve been one rush after the other. Having a busy life never phased me before but for some reason I hate having to be patient.

My social life- I’ve been impatient in the sense that if I decide to go out and do stuff like the young adult I am, and plans are not working out, I change my mind. I can no longer wait and make an informed decision. Now a days, as soon as I realize that I might have to change plans I scratch the idea all together.

Finally, PEOPLE- I am usually an open minded, empathetic, loving person. I grew up in a city where people were in your face constantly. NEW YORK. But after spending four years in the tranquil (in my opinion) town of Lynchburg, VA, I realized what a slow life felt like and I liked it. Now that I live in a city like DC, which in my opinion is a taste of both, I’ve had to readjust. I’m trying to learn a new city and culture and my patience is not cooperating.

Overall, I miss the patience I used to have. It afforded me the ability to learn and love easier. My patience helped me to avoid stressful situations and unnecessary problems. I’m going to work on getting it back because I’ve lived the saying “Patience is a Virtue”
