Dear LW Community,
This evening I had the honor to go to dinner with amazing women and the EDRS board who help my local community by supporting those suffering from eating disorders. Self-love told me I needed to connect with others as my heart needed to be filled with love and passion. I wanted to continue to stay and engage in meaningful conversation, but my Lyme Disease kicked in and I reached my limit. Self-love told me I needed emotional connection and self-love also told me to go home and get ready for bed. I find that self-love can be tricky as there are many faucets to self-love and care, and choosing what is best can be difficult.
I wanted to stay emotionally and spiritually, but physically I know that my body was done and I needed to be able to drive home safely. Self-love took me home even though I wanted to stay. This may seem like no big deal to some, but for those who know anyone and are educated about Lyme will know that this is a hard disease and one moment I will be okay and an hour later I can hardly walk or move. My self-love journey right now is to learn to not do. Not doing will be the greatest and most difficult form of self-love. I also had the self-love challenge of not taking it personally when people tell me I look great…as my outward appearance does not match how ill I am and often people don’t get how much I am in pain because of this. Wishing you all well.
With love and light,
