Sometimes I have a love hate relationship with my crazy, crazy hair. OK, more of a hate relationship.
My hair is chlorine-burned, frizzy, and dry. Lots of days, I take scissors and cut, cut, cut, until the ends stop behaving like I’ve just been struck by lightening.
But not today!
Sure, today my hair is still dark on the top and blonde on the bottom. Sure, it still is as poofy as the sleeves on that ridiculous prom dress in Napoleon Dynamite. And no, I still can’t get a brush through it no matter how hard I try.
Today I love my hair. I love that I have hair. I love the dark color that accents my eyes, and the glittery yellow bottom that catches sunlight. I love its volume. I love that it is a blanket on a cold day. I love that it is so unruly that I just can’t get it into a proper ponytail. I love that it is so wildly tangled, always, so that braiding it creates more of an interesting nest than a braid. I love that it holds onto the smell of my favorite shampoo. I love that it wakes up singing “Defying Gravity.” I love, love, love my crazy hair!
