Self Love Project

I don’t normally sign up to do these sort of things. I’m not a very committed person when it comes to my personal writing. Often times the more I feel forced into doing something the less I begin to do things. I started off writing in my blog nearly daily and now I write every few months. I don’t know when I made the transition and I’m not entirely sure what spurred my lack of interest in my own personal writing, but it happened.

So it came as no surprise that I originally disregarded the invite to join the Self Love Project. It involved dedication and a time commitment. I closed my notifications and went about my Facebook business. Then it occurred to me, I wasn’t scared of doing the writing. I wasn’t concerned about having my voice heard. I wasn’t worried of what others might think of my grammatically incorrect and often strung out thoughts. Nope. I was scared of failing. I was scared of letting myself down. I didn’t love myself enough to immerse into the world of writing, which I so dearly love. So I back stepped.

I clicked open the page that a RMWC alum had invited me to join and I did just that. I took a step towards loving myself. I told myself it is ok to fail. If you miss a day or even a few there is no penalty, no deadline, no disappointed being telling you the project was a failure. This project is all about how your life would be different if you just took a step back and loved yourself and your body. I spent most of my life coming to terms with my body. I’ve spent the last couple of years teaching myself to love it and everything else about me. I’ve worked on becoming a better, stronger, person. Now I need to learn to love that person. Where better to start than through my writing.

Great job Kay for doing what you can:) You are a success and always will be for trying:) Failures aren’t all that bad, they really are just lessons to help us get to where we want:) If you miss a post here and there, right on, it’s okay:) No one is perfect. Some times missing a self love post or not doing “something to the “T” is more self love than doing it. Self love is allowing ourselves some slack. I almost didn’t join this challenge even though my mom headed it, because with two young girls I barely have time to pee alone, lol:) Though it feels good to post and when I can I do and when I can’t I focus my self love some where else that need it:) Good job babe, your doing GREAT!!!!
