Today I took action! I signed up for my remaining college courses to get my AA in Psychology. I am the only one in my whole entire family, for many generations, to actually make it to college. I didn’t realize I was feeling the following emotions and related actions. Convincing myself to feel guilt, jealousy, anger that they didn’t educate themselves, sabotaging my own success. I felt embarrassed if I showed too much pride or confidence in my classroom achievements. I felt that I didn’t deserve to go beyond what my family did. After meditation and writing I realized that I was the only one putting those feelings on myself. Funny thing, I know I would never talk to my family as bad or as mean as I do to myself sometimes. What a reality check! The thoughts have now changed to more confident, positive, empowering and encouraging ones. I’m also taking self-loving actions to move forward to reaching my educational goals. If anything I need the education to benefit my family. I deserve to educate myself so I can serve others to the best of my ability! I feel a new desire to better myself, take my education level to the fullest. I encourage others to go out on a ledge, take a class, educate yourself and grow beyond those before you.
Smiles to Success!!!
