Self-love Action!

eleanor-roosevelt-first-lady-the-giving-of-love-is-an-education-in

Today I took action! I signed up for my remaining college courses to get my AA in Psychology. I am the only one in my whole entire family, for many generations, to actually make it to college. I didn’t realize I was feeling the following emotions and related actions. Convincing myself to feel guilt, jealousy, anger that they didn’t educate themselves, sabotaging my own success. I felt embarrassed if I showed too much pride or confidence in my classroom achievements. I felt that I didn’t deserve to go beyond what my family did. After meditation and writing I realized that I was the only one putting those feelings on myself. Funny thing, I know I would never talk to my family as bad or as  mean as I do to myself sometimes. What a reality check! The thoughts have now changed to more confident, positive, empowering and encouraging ones. I’m also taking self-loving actions to move forward to reaching my educational goals. If anything I need the education to benefit my family. I deserve to educate myself so I can serve others to the best of my ability! I feel a new desire to better myself, take my education level to the fullest. I encourage others to go out on a ledge, take a class, educate yourself and grow beyond those before you.
Smiles to Success!!!

One Response to Self-love Action!

  1. Dear Anonymous,

I love the part where you wrote: “Funny thing, I know I would never talk to my family as bad or as mean as I do to myself sometimes. What a reality check! The thoughts have now changed to more confident, positive, empowering and encouraging ones.”

Your ability to have an “inner observer” who noticed the thoughts and resulting emotions you were experiencing allowed you to make more loving choices.

You do deserve to educate yourself, and so much more!
    Blessings on your continued success,
    Michelle
