My Body’s Greatest Gift To Me: My Son

While trying to think of all the things my body does for me that on an average day I overlook and take for granted I realized that the thing my body has done for me that I value the most is that my body helped create  my son, carried and protected him for 9 months, and then brought him to me where he has remained in my arms ever since.  If I love my body for anything it is for that most precious ability to create life that has given me the most beloved gift I could ever ask for.  My son is and always will be apart of me.  The marks I now carry are proof of how hard my body worked to bring him into this world and while I used to look at them sadly now I think I have a new perspective of them.  When my son looks at me he sees just his mommy and he loves me.  My new goal for this year is to see myself as my son sees me, as just myself without any of the negatives attached and to learn to love myself as much as I do when I look at him and as much as I know he does when he looks at me.

One Response to My Body’s Greatest Gift To Me: My Son

  1. Megan, your post has touched my heart. Your goal to see yourself as your son sees you is so awesome. And to love yourself as he loves you and as you love him, wow, that’s a powerful goal, and one that you can feel in your body and soul. Each time you feel your love for your son, it’s a reminder to give that same love to yourself.
    Continued Blessings,
