New Year, New Beginnings?

I don’t believe in coincidences, I KNOW that everything that happens has been part of a plan. I have struggled with my weight and body image for as long as I can remember, but in 2013, it has been worse. I haven’t changed my eating habits at all, yet I have gained more than 10 pounds, and feel like crying whenever I am sitting in my dressing area and look at myself in the mirror. I don’t expect to ever be a size 10 again, but it would be lovely to stand in the mirror while getting dressed and say “wow, I look pretty nice today!!”

And in the vein of not believing in coincidences, I just found this quote under the glass/keyboard on the desk as I’m writing this. The title is “Love”:

This is a new day. It has never existed before; it has never been lived before, it is mine! This day comes to me filled with new gifts of opportunity, vision, joy, peace, life and substance. But most important it is a day filled with God’s love. I am grateful for this new day. Should the shadows of yesterday, the old worries, mistakes or fears-creep into my mind or heart, I let the love of God shine through any shadow, erasing any fear. IF DIFFICULTY ARISES DURING THE DAY, I MEET IT WITH THIS THOUGHT: I AM FILLED WITH GOD’S LOVE. I USE THIS THOUGHT TO BLESS EVERYONE I ENCOUNTER TODAY. AS I THINK IT, SING IT, FEEL IT, LIVE IT, TODAY BECOMES A WONDERFUL DAY, FILLED WITH GOD’S LOVE ALL DAY LONG.

1 Response to New Year, New Beginnings?

  1. Dear Debbie,
Thanks so much for participating in the Self-Love Writing Challenge. I agree with you that things happen for a reason. Finding the quote titled “Love” under your glass/keyboard as you were writing your post was no coincidence.
I offer you a practice. When you’re standing in the mirror while getting dressed stop and look at a part of your body that you usually criticize. Send it love. Thank it for what it does for you, and ask it to forgive you. Commit to sending that body part appreciation and gratitude for all it does for you every day. If you start this practice, will you give me an update at the end of the month?
    Love and Blessings,
