The month of May was full; I have a new granddaughter. I’ve spent more time with my first granddaughter as she transitions into being a big sister. Last month also included a vacation, a book signing/fundraiser at Petaluma Copperfield’s and a presentation/book signing for La Ventana, an Eating Disorder Program that sponsored a luncheon for professionals. My work as a psychotherapist as well as my roles as wife, mother, grandmother and friend kept me on the move.
Being in Hawaii last month was a relaxing vacation. I realized I have not been “unplugged” from the computer since 2004 when I began writing my book. My husband and I walked around Oahu taking in all the sights, sounds, good food, tropical drinks and balmy weather. We laid out on the beach and by the pool and swam every day.
There was a part of me that began to criticize myself for not keeping up with my Self-Love Diet Facebook page, as well as my blog while I was on vacation. This archetypal Judge told me, “You need to write daily to encourage people to live the Self-Love Diet. You are slacking. If you don’t post and respond on your Facebook page people will forget about the Self-Love Diet.” I chose to fire my Judge and enjoyed my vacation. I realized that time away from the computer was an example of self-love.
As I look at the calendar today and see that it is now June 2nd, I can feel my passion is renewed in my desire to write.
The prompt for June is: Firing your Judge. What self-criticisms do you want to let go of?
Below is a template that you can follow when submitting self-love posts to us this month. Or you can use this template to write in your own journal. Also remember that our prompt is just a suggestion. You are free to write whatever will bring the most love and balance into your life.
