We had 58 blog posts in January! Thanks to all of you who wrote them and to all of you who read them!
And Congratulations to Lindsey Wert, the winner of the Love Warrior Community’s Self-Love Writing Contest for submitting the most posts in January. It was my pleasure to start the month of February by presenting Lindsey with an autographed copy of my book, Self-Love Diet: The Only Diet That Works.
I believe it always helps to have a focus when we want to make changes or enhance a practice. Utilizing Daylle Deanna Schwartz’s annual January 31-day self-love challenge to do something loving for ourselves is always a great start to the year.
What I want to encourage is an ongoing practice of self-loving behaviors everyday for the rest of our lives. How can we foster this life-long self-love practice?
One way is by reading the prompts for each month on our Self-Love Warrior blog. The monthly prompts can lend a focus to your personal journaling or your blog submissions. I’ll announce the self-love writing prompt for February on the 11th after the Eating Disorder Recovery Support, Inc. Conference. You can look to previous prompts for inspiration, the posting guidelines on how to incorporate the 7 Paths of the Self-Love Diet into your writing or you can write about whatever is coming up for you in your self-love journey.
If writing isn’t your thing, perhaps reading others’ blog posts, poetry submissions, body forgiveness letters, body love letters and favorite quotes or short stories will be an inspiring self-love practice.
Of course I want to invite you to read my new book, Self-Love Diet: The Only Diet That Works. It’s now available at Amazon.com, and you can go to my website, www.theselflovediet.com, and click on the events page to find out where I’ll be having book readings/signings as well as “meet and greets” at local book stores.
I am in the midst of preparing for our Eating Disorder Recovery Support Inc. (EDRS Inc.) annual conference this Feb.7-9th at the Sheraton Hotel in Petaluma. I will be presenting on Saturday Feb. 9th. The title of my presentation is: Self-Love: A Radical Activist Practice. I invite you to come. To register, you can download the registration form at www.edrs.net and bring it with you to register at the door the day or days that you want to attend. Registration forms will also be available at the conference.
Thursday night from 5-7 pm is our evening reception. If you can’t make the conference, but want to come see the sneak preview of “This is Beauty” by the Body Positive, listen to me read from my new book and find out who is this year’s Love Warrior Award winner, please come! We are suggesting a donation of $20 for this evening reception with wine and hor d’oeuvres, but no one will be turned away.
By the way, Lindsey Wert, the winner of the Love Warrior Community’s Self-Love Writing Contest has the distinction of being our very first official Love Warrior!
Blessings on your self-love journey,
