31st Day of the 31-day Self-Love Challenge
January has been an amazing month! My husband is managing two stores in Sonoma. The owners treated us and the other department heads to a wonderful dinner and overnight stay at the Bodega Bay Lodge. We played a dice game and I won the pot of 54 dollar bills!
My son moved to LA this month to follow his dream of being an actor, and has two offers of management and an agent who wants to sign him up!
One of my daughters was just married last month. She planned and created the wedding of her dreams, and is happily married to the man of her dreams.
My other daughter is having her second daughter and is a first time author of The Friendship Effect. She’s organized a mother-daughter book reading and signing in Sonoma on February 28th at Readers Books from 7 to 9 pm for the two of us!
My youngest daughter was given an all-expense-paid trip to Palms Springs to write about the Dinah Shore Event, and she was the editor of my book, Self-Love Diet: The Only Diet That Works, which is now available at Amazon.com and at our local Copperfield’s book store in Petaluma!
On the 23rd day of this month my book was officially published. On the 29th I received my shipment of books and delivered them to our local Copperfield’s store. These are milestone events in my life.
As I’m writing this post I’m noticing that old voice that says “Don’t brag Michelle.” “People will think you’re conceited.” “People who are struggling may feel bad to hear about how well all your family is doing. “
What comes to mind is a childhood song I was taught in Sunday school. “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine. This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!
It does not serve me or others to dampen my joy, hide my light, or keep my happiness to myself.
If I share my joy with you, you can share yours with me. When we share it, it expands and grows and lights the way for others to follow their dreams. Likewise, when I have hard times, which we all experience at different times in our lives, it will be balanced by remembering these shared celebrations.
All of my life experiences, whether I judge them as good or bad, are temporary. They come and go, just like the waves against the shore, and like the rhythm of my breath, in and out.
When I have a month like this one, I will celebrate it, and share it so the joy and love will flow outward and be an invitation for you to join me in my joy, as well as an invitation to follow your passions and manifest your own dreams.
I wonder, is there a connection between loving one’s self and an abundance of goodness in one’s life?
Let’s step together into February and continue our Self-Love journey.
