How You Think Changes Everything

Dear Love Warrior Community,

The first three days of my new year after my birthday have been three of the best days of my life thus far. I have decided that I am going to live each and every day in gratitude, awareness and in love with myself. I will open my arms with love, compassion and grace. I will offer to myself what I freely give others. I share with you one of my favorite poems.

The Serenity Prayer

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and the wisdom to know the difference.
living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardship as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to his will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.

Ellen Roosevelt once said, “you gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the things you cannot do.” I am learning that self-love is the key to happiness. Acts of self-love don’t always feel good but that does not mean it’s not self-love. The world is full of suffering, and it is also full of human beings who overcome it.

How will you choose to live your life? Each moment truly is a gift. It starts with how we think, what we seek and whether or not we are willing to change the beliefs we have come to known.
