The process of writing my book was safe. It was only for my eyes. Publishing a book is bringing my creation into the world for others to interact with. Writing my book was the easy part. This process of publishing my book is challenging. It reminds me of giving birth. Giving birth can be painful!!
I’ve been trying to get this book published in this month of January. The publishing date continues to be pushed back. I’m learning that it’s just part of the process. Everything takes longer than expected and when editing the proof book it’s as though mistakes multiply over night while I’m sleeping!
I’ve been practicing letting go only to grab back my desire for the book to be ready sooner than it wants to be. It’s interesting to note that 3 of my 4 children were premature, only one was considered full term. It’s as if I’m trying to get this book to come prematurely, but it is taking it’s time and won’t be birthed until the time is right.
As the publication of my book draws near I have a heightened awareness of the certainty that there will be people who will criticize me and my message. They will disagree with some aspects of my book.
I am also certain that people will attune to my message, be helped, inspired and motivated to love themselves by reading my book. So I move past my fear of criticism and step into the light of my power; I wrap myself in the cloak of a Love Warrior.
Notice the part of me that is afraid of criticism, and let it go.
Step into my power by making sure the book states my truth. As long as it reflects my beliefs I can stand solid in my power and confidence.
Stop rushing the book, slow down and breathe! Take my time to correct the mistakes I find in it and make it the best it can be without getting caught in perfectionism.
Acknowledge my expertise and experience. Know that what I’m offering is valuable.
I encourage you to do something in your life that pushes your boundaries and makes you a little uncomfortable. Loving yourself doesn’t always feel comfortable, sometimes there are growing pains!
Blessings on your Self-Love Journey,
Michelle E. Minero
