I have found that there is a lot in this world that can’t be seen, but that does not mean that it is not real. Just because I can’t hold it in my hands, see or touch it does not mean that it does not exist. It is with my heart that I can really see rightly. What is essential is invisible to the eye.

At times I feel like I am afraid of myself, the power that resides within myself, and the belief that I have in my life and its purpose. When thinking about self love and believing in myself this evening I turned to one of my books that a dear mentor of mine gave me. Here are some of my favorites from it…

The capacity for hope is the most significant fact of life. It provides human beings with a sense of destination and the energy to get started, -Norman Counsins

What is life for? It is for you. -Abraham Maslow

Believe you are a once-in-all history event.

Believe you are here for a reason.

Believe in something big. Your life is worth noble motive. -Walter Anderson

Act boldly and unseen forces with come to your aid. -Dorothea Drande

…everything in life responds to the song of the heart. -Ernest Holmes

The key is to trust your heart to move where your unique talents can flourish. This old world will really spin when work becomes a joyous expression of the soul. -Al Sacharov

When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this: you haven’t. -Thomas Edison

Believe that there is always, always, always a way.

Believe that you are far bigger than anything that can happen to you.

Believe that you might be the light for someone else.

Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery that is it…Touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace. -Frederick Buechner

May this new year be filled with belief and purpose in life.

  1. I agree Lindsey, some of the most powerful moments can looking into someone’s eyes and connecting in that intangible, yet intimately important way.
When I imagine places of refuge and beauty, they can be more real and have a more lasting effect than some of my “real” moments.
Thank you for the touching qoutes, you are a true Love Warrior.
