Lately all of my self-love writing, since the 10 Minute Self-Love Writing Challenge, has been pointing to the same themes: work less, more me time, more social time, more time away from my computer and work.
Today I actually had a day off. I worked maybe a total of an hour, but I love my work, so it didn’t really feel like working; and compared to working 14 hour days, working 1 hour is nothing.
In the morning/afternoon, I went over to my hometown best friends’ place & they recently got an espresso machine, so we had cappuccinos, hung out & went on a small walk around the nearby park. Then I went home & wrote some letters & put some packages together to send out to some friends, then I hung out with my fam for a bit. After that, on a whim, I went out to a bar/restaurant with my siblings to watch the Lyons & Saints play & we had some drinks. Then we got some Taco Bell, came back home, watched some TV together. Now I’m going to pop in a movie & chillax.
I haven’t given myself a day off like this in who knows how long. And my arm doesn’t hurt. My right arm usually is in constant discomfort from constant typing, and it feels good because it had a day off. 🙂
My self-love action today was allowing myself to do nothing, allowing myself to go with the flow, and allowing myself to be in the present moment with the people that I was with. It was a great day. 🙂
