Connecting

I’m taking 10 minutes to write my self-love post. I’ve been at my computer all day, and I have had such a GREAT day! People make me so happy, connecting with people, getting to know people, helping people. I love the energy that interaction with others creates. It works better than caffeine.

Today I realized that I’m passionate about networking, connecting with others & helping others. It was and was not a big realization. I already knew these things, but while working for Curve & chatting on Twitter it opened my eyes more — Not only am I passionate about networking, connecting with others and helping others, but I’m Really good at it; and I’m really good at it because I love to do it.

This made me think about everything that I’m doing: the Love Warrior Community, Community Bucket List, working for Curve, writing for EDGE, random writing, editing & social media aside from my bigger projects — I use different skill sets for each, but at the core of everything I do — it all relates to connecting with others & supporting others.

Community Bucket List Slogan

Community Bucket List is literally about creating a support system for people to take action on and achieve their dreams & goals.

The Love Warrior Community is about creating a community & support system to help people create their own self-love practice, enabling them to love themselves & accept themselves more.

Curve Magazine: The leading lesbian magazine in the nation.

I see Curve Magazine as an opportunity for me to help promote the amazing things that creative impassioned queer women are doing. I get to show others how they’re contributing their passions to the world & give them a larger audience to impact & help.

Through these different communities I’m a part of, I get to know more people, I get to know what they want to achieve & I get to help them, whether it’s me helping them directly, or connecting them with someone else who I met along the way.

I want to create a business that revolves around everything I do — connecting with people, helping people connect with others & helping people achieve their goals & share their passions with the world. For my 2012 goal of creating financial stability for myself (which financial instability was my number 1 stress for 2011, thus bringing self-doubt & insecurities into my life & a huge negative energy) I want to focus on how I can find a focus & common thread among everything I do, and turn it into a legit business, instead of random freelance work. I want to create a business plan.

This is my own food for thought. What action plan & specific action steps can I take so I can have financial stability by X date, thus relieving my number 1 cause of stress last year.

What was your number one cause of stress last year? What actions can you take this year to prevent/defeat it?
