I am incorporating a focus on body love for the month of February.
I started my morning off with Qigong. What a lovely way to start the day!
I imagined an ocean of love above me and below me. I envisioned an ocean of love in front of me and in back of me. I visualized an ocean of love to my left, and to my right. I then imagined an ocean of love within me.
I listened to Mingtong Gu lead me through the spinal bone marrow meditation. I imagined my spine opening to the loving energy from within, and receiving the energy from without.
I felt the energy enlivening my spine, and shoulders. I imagined a smile in the area of my body that was experiencing discomfort.
I did not finish the whole practice, but felt centered, grounded, calm, and proud of myself for beginning.
I am committing to practice more each week.
This practice has benefits beyond the physical. The idea of smiling into the pain is new to me. I have always tried to push pain away. Now I am learning to make room for it, and invite the loving energy into it.
I am developing more compassion for my body as I work with it, rather than trying to control it, and make it pain free, rather than working with the pain.
I wonder what lessons you will learn as you focus on body love. I hope you will share your teachings as they come to you with our Love Warrior community.
