Self–Love: Day 14
I slept in until 10:45am. Well, I woke up around 7 to go for a walk with my mom, then after my walk, I went back to sleep.
My goal for the day was to have a productive work day. I feel like that’s always my goal, not necessarily to have a productive work day, but to have a productive day.
Early in the day, my best friend Brian called me to hang out and go for a hike. I didn’t have a car, so he was going to pick me up (it was around noon), and would drop me off home around 7:30pm when he came back into Petaluma. It was my goal that day to get a lot of work done, and I knew if I went with Brian I would get very little work done.
My self-love action for the day: I decided to go! 🙂 It was a blast. I got to have great Brian time, which I was missing and needing. I got to see Aleah, Brian’s beautiful daughter. We went on a 3 hour hike in a gorgeous area, where I got to see wild animals, climb hills, get muddy, and smell the aroma of trees, dirt, moss – nature. It was just what I needed. A day away from the computer, and a day out in nature with my best friend.
On our way home, I treated us to Chunky burritos, and then got home and had some of my burrito with my parents for dinner. It was a great day and a great evening. I allowed myself to take a real day off, to socialize, and to get fresh air, and I didn’t feel guilty. I didn’t have a productive work day, but I did have a productive and fulfilling day. 🙂
