I slept in until noon today. I had my alarm clock for 8am, and then I pushed it back to 8:30am, then 9am, then 9:30am, then 10am, then I just turned it off, and let myself wake up whenever I would wake up. When I finally woke up, I felt pretty good. 🙂
That was my first self-love action for the day, listening to my body.
After I woke up, I lounged around, ate breakfast, read some of the 4-Hour Work Week, a book that my friend and online mentor, Mikko Kemppe, gave me for Christmas, and I just enjoyed myself. I didn’t worry about needing to start working as soon my feet were out of my bed; I was just enjoying myself and my day.
I then biked to my sister’s work to pick up her house key to let her dogs out. It was a lovely bike ride. The sun was out, I was smiling to people as I passed through the streets. It felt great. When I got to Ne’s house, I enjoyed the dogs, bella and ahu, and took in their playful energy.
When I got home, I went back and forth between cleaning and working. It was nice. It was simple. I listened to Phantograms, When I’m Small, on repeat. It has a rhythmic, relaxing beat.
I felt happy the whole day. I didn’t rush myself. I listened to what my body needed. I enjoyed work, I enjoyed cleaning, reading, sleeping, biking. I enjoyed everything I did.
When I don’t put pressure or stress on myself, when I listen to what I need, and focus on positive, self-loving thoughts, my days become so much more cheerful and productive. I like it. 🙂
